Richard E. Vickery - Director of Engineering

Mr. Vickery’s primary duties include the technical and engineering analysis and due diligence on the assets and drilling opportunities of potential and existing portfolio companies, analyzing the technical merits of emerging exploration and exploitation plays and evaluating new technologies and their application to the energy industry. Mr. Vickery founded Vickery Engineering, Inc. in 2003 and as President, successfully engineered and supervised the daily drilling and production operation of numerous wells along the gulf coast and Northeast Texas for client companies such as Mr. Voncannon’s Redman Operating Company and Jordan Oil Company. Mr. Vickery was responsible for more than 70 million cubic feet equivalent of Redman’s daily production from 76 operated wells located in 15 fields in Texas and Mississippi. Previously, Mr. Vickery spent eight years with Columbia Gas Development. As a Senior Drilling Engineer for Columbia Mr. Vickery engineered and supervised all drilling operations in South Louisiana, drilling numerous wells ranging from 9,000' to 16,870', including straight and directional, land locations and inland waters. These operations represented over $150 million of capital investment. As a Drilling Engineer for Columbia, Mr. Vickery engineered approximately 50 land wells throughout the United States both normally and abnormally pressured. This included wells in North Dakota, Wyoming, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Utah and Montana. Mr. Vickery began his career in 1985 as a Drilling Fluids Engineer with M-I Drilling Fluids. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and obtained a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering fromTexas A&M University. Mr. Vickery is married and has three children.
